How to Organize & Store Makeup

Do you have issues remembering to clear off the sink & put all of your makeup away when you’re finished getting ready?

Confession time! Our small bathroom doesn’t allow for a lot of storage space, and I am not exactly the type of person who will take a makeup bag out of the drawer, set it neatly on the counter, and then use each item, replace it in the bag, and neatly put it away when I’m finished.

I tried the whole makeup bag thing. I really did. There were just too many steps involved and too little counter space for any attempts at anything even remotely neat-looking, so things just weren’t getting put away. Ever. My bathroom sink started looking like some kind of mascara massacre crime scene.

Guess what?? I found the solution!!

Cut out the middle man.

Makeup-Storage-Ideas, Plastic Makeup Organizers Attached Inside Cabinet Door

I got rid of my makeup bag (gasp!) and only use it for traveling now. For my day-to-day routine, I keep everything organized inside the door of my medicine cabinet. It’s all right there within easy reach, and each item has a spot where I can see it & put it right back when I’m finished. I LOVE IT.

These little beauties are called StickOn Pods. They have adhesive backs and adjustable compartments, so I can switch them around if I need different storage options for my makeup. Right now, I store regular & waterproof mascara, under eye concealer, eyeliners, my lash curler, a mini eyeshadow palette, tweezers, and makeup brushes.

My bottom bin is the 3M Command Medium Organizer, and it holds the larger products: foundation, blush, gel & powdered bronzers, and an eyeshadow palette.

Seriously, cutting out the extra step of keeping stuff in a makeup bag has been amazing. It is SO easy to stay organized because I don’t have to think about anything, it saves time because I’m not digging through a big makeup bag, and I love being able to see everything all the time when I’m getting ready. SO awesome!!

Wow, this is awesome! I love your ideas. I think that I may need to test this out soon. The way I store items in my makeup bag means I am constantly pulling them up and lining them along the sink like little soldiers waiting to be used. This would definitely eliminate that process to have everything in clear view. Thanks for sharing!

Thanks so much! Yes, I was totally getting sick of digging around and lining things up, plus then they’d got knocked over, or I’d get distracted and forget to put them away…not good! This way is so much faster, and it was really easy! I hope it works for you :)

What a neat, clean, visual, smart, simple and reasonably priced idea!

Love THEM and your eyes accessories photo, belongs in a stylist magazine. Have added them to my basket already!
